Who does Por Legal serve?
We primarily serve low-income and indigent clients, including new immigrants and other disadvantaged groups. Most of the people we serve are Chinese-speaking.
Do your services cost anything?
Most of our services are provided free of charge. If you have questions about cost, please ask us when you visit.
Is Por Legal a nonprofit?
Yes. Por Legal is operated by Newhope Immigrant (legal name NEWHOPE IMMIGRANT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in California.
What languages do you speak?
We provide service in Chinese and English.
Where is your office, and when are you open?
Our office is at 17800 Castleton St Ste 230, City of Industry, CA 91748. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Pacific Time). See visiting information.
What should I bring when I visit?
Please bring a photo ID and any letters or notices you have received from USCIS or the immigration court. If you have them, also bring your receipt numbers, your A-Number and copies of any applications you have filed.
How can I check my case status myself?
For USCIS cases, enter your 13-character receipt number on USCIS Case Status Online. For immigration court cases, enter your A-Number and nationality on EOIR’s Automated Case Information portal. Our case tracking page explains both.
Can you guarantee the result of my case?
No. No one can honestly guarantee the outcome of an immigration case. We will explain your situation clearly and honestly, and help you understand your options.
